1. Who we are

Polyhomes and Shelter Ltd (“PolyHomes”, “we”, “us”) operates the PolyHomes platform, connecting guests with verified hotels, serviced apartments, shortlets and villas across Nigeria. Our registered address is No 5 Barr. P.I Oyewole Street, Dawaki, Abuja.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to operate the platform:

  • Contact details — name, email address and phone number you give us through our forms.
  • Host and property information — business details, property address, pricing, amenities, house rules and payout bank details submitted during onboarding.
  • Booking information — stays you search for, book or list.
  • Technical data — IP address and basic request information, recorded for security and abuse prevention.

We do not collect NIN or BVN through this website. Identity verification is completed separately and securely inside the PolyHomes app.

3. How we use your information

  • To respond to enquiries and process host onboarding applications.
  • To verify properties and the people listing them.
  • To process bookings and pay hosts.
  • To provide customer support.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

4. Legal basis

We process personal data where you have given consent, where processing is necessary to perform a contract with you, or where we have a legitimate interest in operating and securing the platform, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the platform (such as payment processors and email providers), and where required by law. Guests and hosts see only the information necessary to complete a booking.

6. Photographs

Photographs submitted by hosts are used to market the property on the PolyHomes platform and in our marketing material. By submitting photos, hosts confirm they own the rights to them or have written permission to use them.

7. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above, or as required by law. Onboarding submissions from applications that do not proceed are deleted once they are no longer needed.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No system is completely secure, so we encourage you never to send sensitive identifiers such as your NIN or BVN by email or through a web form.

9. Your rights

You may ask us to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your data, where we have no legal reason to keep it.
  • Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent.
